Living for you seems to be an art. It take time to master it for some, for others they may feel they can’t do it. They see people who talk about abundance and living purposefully and think…yeah okay.
I get it I totally do because a long time ago I was there. I saw women who were where I wanted to be in life. They were happy, doing them and I said wow, must be nice in my dark secluded corner.
The more I thought about my life and how different it was from what I imagined as a child and how the things I really loved weren’t part of my life something within me started to stir. It hurt, A LOT!
While I was at the bottom I realized, no one could save me from this place. Not a therapist, medication, suicide, family, or friend. It was me, my thoughts, and my spirit.
I had to decide what was allowed in my life and what wasn’t. I started choosing differently. Making decisions and sticking to them. Living life on your own terms is all about creating the life you want.
I don’t know what that looks like, unless you tell me. I have a long list of questions to ask that can help you find those answers, but living life on your own terms is all up to you.
The first step is to realize that life is a journey and you can change the direction at any time!
Here are some tips to living life on your own terms:
- Decide what you want out of life
- Know what makes you happy
- Know who you are and own it!
- Learn from your mistakes
- Be in control of your mind and body
- Accept you – ALL of you!
- Get support through this journey.
Some questions to consider:
- What kind of people do you want around you?
- How will you maintain this new life?
- Who do you want to be?
- Are you willing to take the steps necessary to do it?
- When challenges come will you face them head on?
You have to get clear, be focused, and go hard for what you want in your life. If something doesn’t serve you, let it go. Appreciate whatever lesson or benefit it brought you and move forward from there.
Do you know how you want to live your life?
